Generative fill also features a cut tool that can easily remove unwanted elements from your photos. Instead, use Photoshop’s Remove Tool, another new AI-powered feature, to easily clean them up. Now that we have our background, let’s add a couple of accents. Adding skies and other elements

Or you can select objects you want to remove from an image and use Generative Fill without a specific text prompt to let the tool determine how to fill the missing area. While not the most polished AI tool out there, Adobe’s first attempt at including an AI feature in Photoshop is quite inclusive. As you can see above, Photoshop AI intelligently identifies and removes objects from their native sceneries easily. You can even write new prompts to achieve different effects or expand the image canvas and have the AI add more details, which is even more impressive. Using the impressive AI-powered generative fill, you can alter images in nearly any way you imagine.

With the image below as an example, I’d like to introduce a formatting convention I’m using in this article. The red dashed lines represent the selections I made with the Lasso tool. The actual crawling ants selection interface wasn’t visible enough for the screenshots for this article, so I’ve turned all selections into red dashed lines for your viewing clarity. To create our glorious demo image, I used exactly two Photoshop tools. This draws a freehand shape on the screen that specifies a selection. As we’ve discussed previously, Adobe Photoshop has a beta out that adds a powerful feature it calls Generative Fill.

Thankfully, I was able to easily expand the canvas size in Photoshop Beta and use Generative Fill to seamlessly fill in the gap. The result is a more pleasing, pano-esque composition that places the duck front and center with plenty of breathing room on either side of its wings. In other words, that bench we’ve created above cannot be copied and pasted on its own to another part of the image, as the surrounding area will also be duplicated.
